    Task 2.

In modern society with a strong emphasize on globalization, learning a foreign language appears to be a must for one’s betterment. While some people might claim that the only motivation for a person to study another language is traveling or working abroad, I believe many language learners do not agree with that.

It is true that some people only learn a foreign language for a purpose of traveling or working in another nation. With the help of globalization, many corporates are more eager to recruit skillful employees originating outside of their country in high-demand fields such as Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence. Therefore, workers who specialize in those fields have to minimize the language barriers in order to develop their career path beyond their homeland. Moreover, mass tourism is also on the significant rise and thus it is much easier nowadays to travel to other nations. As a result, many tourists decide to take language courses in order to communicate better with the local once they arrive in the destination.

However, many people have different reasons to learn a language. Some, like me, do it only for their own preferences. Through languages, they can learn more about a country’s culture, cuisine or even history, which is found to be substantially intriguing and motivating to the learners. On top of that, when one is able to dominate a language, he or she can get access to various knowledge resourses and materials available only in that language. Finally, knowing a foreign language is often a prequisite in many business settings, which also urges people to study a language to further enhance their career.

In conclusion, while some people might argue that traveling and working abroad are the only reasons for studying a languages, I believe that learning a new language can benefit people in many other ways.

    • IELTS-PTE says:

Splendid like your previous attempt. Just a small mistake in the last, ‘studying a languages’ here language should be written. We believe you are ready to fill the exam as far as writing is concerned if you are scoring well in other modules as well.

  2. Alejandro says:

The given chart illustractes carbon dioxide (CO2) emitted on average per person from 1967 to 2007 in four countries: Sweden, Italy, United Kingdom and Portugal.

It is very noticeable that over the course of 40 years, the amount of CO2 emission had fallen in United Kingdom and Sweden. In contrast, the figure in Portugal and Italy had risen considerably during the same period.

Between 1967 and 2007, CO2 emissions per person in the UK had dwindlen from about 11 metric tonnes to only 9 metric tonnes. Similarly, after having a sharp increase from 8.5 in 1967 to over 10 metric tonnes in 1977, the figure in Sweden had diminished substantially to approximately 5.5 metric tonnes in 2007.

Meanwhile, the number of CO2 emissions in Portugal was relatively small in 1967 (1 metric ton), yet had gone up significantly to nearly 6 metric tonnes in 2007. This is also the case of Italy, where the number had nearly doubled in 40 years, although the acceleration had been slow down in the last 10 years.

    • IELTS-PTE says:

Spelling of dwindle are wrong. ‘Having a sharp increase’ is improper sentence formation. ‘This is also’ here use ‘was’ since all the data is of past. ‘had been slow down’ write had been slowed down always use third form of verb with had.

  3. RINAL KANSARA says:

The line graph reveals that people of four countries emitted carbon dioxide per person within a time span of forty years.
With regards to carbon dioxide emitted per person in Portugal stood at one metric tonne,it swelled dramatically and reached its zenith approximately 5 metric tonnes in 2007.Furthermore,the emissions per person in United Kingdom was around 11metric tonnes. It plunged gradually about 10 metric tonnes after the two decades and again it plummeted slightly round about 9 metric tonnes in the following twenty years.
Initially Sweden started the emissions of CO2 per person almost 9 metric tonnes which was higher than Italy but at the end of the period emissions of Italy surpassed emissions of Sweden and declined by a difference of close to 2 metric tonnes.
Overall, Portugal had a linear pattern in the upward direction while in United Kingdom witnessed the holistically opposite trend over the period of four decades. Moreover,at the end of the year Sweden and Portugal had the equal metric tonnes Carbon dioxide emissions per person.

    • IELTS MASTER says:

It is per person emissions but do not write people emitted carbon dioxide. For Portugal final figure is more than 5 not approximately 5. Approximately is generally used when number is just smaller than. Always write the with UK. Plunged is used for sharp decline but decline from 11 to 10 is not sharp same thing for plummeted instead write decline only. We are seeing that you are writing overall at the last of the task is there any reason for that?

  4. RINAL KANSARA says:

The line graph reveals the emissions of CO2 per person in four countries. With regards to per person emissions of CO2 in Portugal……..is it ok? u r telling me not to use people word or both both people and per person ?is it okay now? i always forget to write conclusion in 2nd paragraph.i have long time habit so.but i will remember vividly next time.sorry about it.and can i take exam date now?

    • IELTS MASTER says:

I am saying do not write people emitted CO2, rest is fine. How much are you scoring in other modules? Are you practicing listening and reading tests from our website?

  5. RINAL KANSARA says:

It is irrefutable that language is a pride of the nation and people speak various languages in all over the globe.Since language is a backbone of individuals, they often try to learn new language fluently. However some people have review that people desire to learn foreign language because of migration, others think that there is no particular reason to learn it.Furthermore,in the following section i will discuss both the issues but i personally opine that they learn it for many purposes such as job and travel.
To commence with, nowdays in modern era, people have become career oriented to full fill their all willingness and often fantasize about living a life in foreign country. Thus, they embark to learn it from basic because it is certainly arduous for them to communicate with employees and boss without the language of other country. Also, body language is not sufficient when they visit different places, visit restaurants and discuss about difficulties with individuals.Whilst some people of the host county laugh on them who are unable to speak their language, some people feel pleasure when other speak their language and know about their culture.Another point worth noting is,every year plenty of people have been learning English language and crack the exam of IELTS which vouchsafes them a great opportunities to work in counties such as Canada,UK,USA all countries have prerequisite of this exam to work in their county.
On the contrary, job and travel is not only reason to learn overseas language. Moreover, some languages are mandatory in academic curriculum which broaden the horizon of people about different culture, life style of other counties, plenty of multinational companies work with overseas companies where they communicate with employees on skype, email, video call for business meetings.Additionally, people who work at airport and visa office in their own country they have learnt plethora of languages such as Japanese,Arabic,French and it is certainly necessary for them for good communication with travelers.
To recapitulate, although new languages paves the way for enhance cognitive skills, it attract more to individuals to migrate overseas and earn handsome salary package as well as make shiny future. Many people learn it for their special aim not only as a second language because it is intricate to learn other language from basic.

    • IELTS MASTER says:

Some people have opinion not review. Fulfill is one word, fulfill their aims not willingness. Without the knowledge of the language of other country. Always use the with UK and USA, you keep repeating this mistake. The way for enhanced cognitive skills. It attracts not attract. More individuals not to individuals. Wrong use of word intricate, intricate means small details of something.

  6. RINAL KANSARA says:

sir i get 5.5 in reading because my reading is poor,6.5 in listening and i do speaking my self at home i can not suggest bands and u tell me my writing score.i want overall 6.5 bands.and because of reading i can not wait more because others are good.

  7. annie says:

In this world of diversity, acquiring fluency in a foreign language is often dictated by the need to travel to foreign countries either for leisure or for work. While some individuals believe that this is the sole reason to learn, others beg to differ that this cannot be the only reason. I support the latter and in the following section, I will discuss both views along with an example.

On one hand, travel to foreign countries has become extremely popular either for work or leisure are the reasons that drive an individual towards learning the language of a foreign country. It helps in better communication with colleagues at the onsite workplace to achieve a common goal. In the case of leisure helps to understand the local culture and history. For example- A foreigner speaking local language shows his/her liking for a particular country.

On the other hand, I believe that learning a foreign language can be completely out of interest in a particular language. This helps in personal growth even though we never get an opportunity to travel to a particular country. The interest in certain language even inspires people to pursue a career in this field. For example- teaching a foreign language to people traveling to a foreign country or teaching your own language to foreign people traveling to your country.

In conclusion, knowledge of different languages gives individuals an edge over others who are only familiar with one language. But I also think to learn a different language should be based on one’s own interests rather than based on necessity.

    • IELTS MASTER says:

In the case of leisure it helps, here it is missing. For example, not ‘-‘ and a should not capital. But I also think that learning a different language, it is the correct formation of sentence. Overall it is a very good attempt.

The line graph illustrates, approximate carbon dioxide emissions per individual in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy, Portugal from 1967 to 2007.

Overall, the graph shows the carbon dioxide emissions in metric tonnes. It is seen that carbon dioxide emissions per person in the United Kingdom and Sweden show a decreasing trend. On the other hand, Italy and Portugal show an increasing trend.

In 1967, the United Kingdom was at the topmost with near about 11 metric tonnes. Ater that, there was a steady decrease to below 9 million tonnes in the year 2007. The trend for Sweden was erratic from 1967 to 2007. In the year 2007, it falls down to between 5 and 6 metric tonnes.

In Portugal, the lowest carbon dioxide was emitted in the year 1967 which was below 2 metric tonnes. Whereas, it was approximately 1.5 metric tonnes more in Italy in the same year. Italy and Portugal showed a rising trend and remained approximately constant in the year 1997 and 2007 with 7.8 and 5.2 metric tonnes respectively.

I would be happy enough if you give me a band score. Thanks in advance.!

    • IELTS MASTER says:

Italy and Portugal not Italy, Portugal. Sweden showed a decreasing trend not show because data is of past. Same mistake in the next line and the structure of this line is similar to the previous line. Try to add variety to your writing with different sentence structures and words that will help you to score more in writing. The United Kingdom was at the topmost, better sentence would have been the UK produced the highest amount of CO2 per person among all four countries. In the year 2007 it fell down not falls down, you keep repeating this mistake of using present tense for past data and trends. Your band score is 1.5 out of 3 for this task.

There is no doubt that, nowdays in modern era, people often fantasize about living in foreign country.Since several resources are available to learn foreign language,it is not arduous for people to learn it.While some people believe that people take knowledge of foreign language for particular purpose, others advocate that some have passion to learn it.But I personally agree with the latter notion and in the following section both views will be discussed.

To commence with, every year many people learn foreign language and migrate to another countries for work or education.Furthermore, there are more opportunities of professions with handsome salary package and bright future.Secondly, when people learn language of native speakers, they can easily embrace their culture and custom as well as native people feel proud when their language is spoken by people of another country. For instance,in India, plenty of students and businessmen have been giving ielts examination since many years to settle permanently in foreign country.

On the contrary,it is not essential to learn foreign language only for certain aim because language broadens the horizon and it helps to tourists. Moreover, every year tremendous number of international visitors visit several places and it is absolutely arduous for local people such as guide, driver, shopkeeprs to understand their dialect and communicate with them.Secondly, there are plethora of international companies in India,in which personal work day and night with international employees such as Apple, TCS and it prerequisites good communication skill. To illustrate,in India, every year plenty of people have been learning British english owing to take own tution classes, impart best knowledge to students and earn money in their own country.

To recapitulate, although some people like to take knowledge of foreign language for accommodation and earn money, there are several reasons for learning it which are vital for people such as welcome to international tourists, work in international organizations in their own country.

    • IELTS MASTER says:

There should not be a comma after era in first line. Again wrong task structure since in the introduction you have mentioned that you support the latter notion that is people learn it for passion therefore in the first body paragraph you should start with this, your own opinion and in the second body paragraph you should discuss the professional reasons to learn the language which you do not favor in the argument. Please take note of this, always start with the side you favor and then discuss the other side. Also the side you favor should have more points than the other side.

The line graph reveals emissions of co2 in four counries namely, the United Kingdom,Sweden,Italy and Portugal within a time span of four decades.

Overall, the figure of co2 emissions dominated in Portugal, whereas it witnessed the completely opposite trend in the United Kingdom over the 40 years.

According to the line graph, the figure of co2 emissions in Portugal, stood at nearly 1.2 metric tonnes in 1967 and then it inclined smoothly approximately 3.5 metric tonnes in 1987. Again,it swelled slightly about 5.7 metric tonnes in 2007.Likewise,in Italy,co2 emission was close to 4.2 metric tonnes in 1967.Afterwards, it soared, reached roughly 7.8 metric tonnes in 1997 and it plateaued for one decade.

As per the graph,co2 emission of Sweden fluctuated from around 7.2metric tonnes to almost 10.2 metric tonnes for twenty years. After that,it dived, touched the bottom around 5.6 metric tonnes in 2007.In 1967,there was approximately 10.4 metric tonnes co2 emission in the United Kingdom. Moreover, the pattern of co2 emissions in the United Kingdom, continued to fell down steadily to the end of the period, reaching around 10 metric tonnes in 1987 and hitting a low point about 8.4 metric tonnes in 2007.

    • IELTS MASTER says:

Actually Italy had more CO2 emissions per person than Poland so writing that it dominated in Poland would be wrong. And these are CO2 emissions per person which you have not mentioned in your introduction or overall. Never use swelled and slightly together because swelled means a significant increase but slight means small. ‘it soared, reached’ is wrong way to write, it soared and reached or it soared to reach nearly 7.8 metric tonnes and it plateaued for one decade ‘thereafter’. For Sweden it is not exactly a fluctuation because it increased for just one part and then there was constant decline, fluctuation should be used where there is repeated up and down pattern.

  13. Bonnie says:

The line graph illustrates average carbon dioxide emissions per person in the four countries from 1967 to 2007.
Overview, figure of carbon emissions in Italy and Portugal experienced a upward trend, while figure of that in Sweden presented a steep rise in the beginning of the year, but it dropped over the period, and in the UK decreased slightly throughout the years.

In 1967, the figure of carbon exhaust in Italy and Portugal were around 4 tonnes and about 1 tonnes respectively. There was a consistent rise in Portugal until 1987 by around 1 tonnes per year, then it increased to approximately 5 tonnes and had a slight growth until 2007. Meanwhile, metric of carbon emission in Italy grew to over 6 tonnes and then went up steady until 1977. During 1977-1977, it remained stable until 2007. In 1977 the figure of Sweden reached to over 10 tonnes, however, it dwindled to about 7 tonnes in 1987, and the there was a steady decrease during 1987 to 2007.
In contrast, even though metric of the UK hit a peak of approximately 11 tonnes in 1967, it declined slightly throughout the period.

    • IELTS MASTER says:

‘Overview, figure’ Write Overall the figure. ‘experienced a upward trend’ an upward trend not a upward trend. ‘4 tonnes’ it is 4 metric tonnes. Overall it is a very good attempt. Just try to finish with better line or sentence with the number at which UK’s emission ended in 2007.

Learning non-native languages can certainly reduce gape among the different nations across the globe. For some, foreign languages are only learnt in order to either move or find jobs abroad while others believe that such skills are acquired other purposes beyond the traveling or working in different states. I shall opine the second stance that there could be many reasons, and the essay will elaborate both point of views.
To embark with, there could be plethora of reasons for acquiring oneself with second language skills such as the most important would be the educational purpose. Students around the world go abroad for higher studies on scholarship for which they are asked to fulfill either the that’s country local tongue or international language systems- the most often is English. Personal interest or passion are other significant reasons that convince people to learn new languages other than mother tongue such part of community plays pivotal role in exchanging cultures and traditions across the borders.
On the other hand, some people assume that purpose of mastering non-mother tongues helps is necessary either for voyaging around the globe or hunting jobs abroad. Most of the multinational companies have kept the specific language standards for job seekers from another country, and only people meeting such language criteria are preferred upon others lacking it. Similarly, different tourist guiding entities are encouraging tourists to have at least basic language knowledge of place they are expected to visit.
To recapitulate, there are two arguments regarding purpose of learning foreign language that are, for some its only a matter of travelling or working in different countries while others argue that there are numerous reasons to learn a non-native languages.

    • IELTS MASTER says:

‘reduce gape’ gape though is a correct word but i would suggest to gap, because some examiner might get the impression that you have misspelled gap. ‘acquired other purposes’ acquired for. ‘the that’s country’ ? the formation here is wrong and never use short forms like that’s. ‘other than mother tongue such part of community plays’ sentence should end at mother tongue because the later part is not making sense with the complete sentence, better to write in a separate sentence. ‘helps is necessary’ again grammatically incorrect, you seem to making these minor mistakes with prepositions and helping verbs. ‘its’ wrong usage, a mistake which not even trained teachers point out. Here you should use it is because its means belonging like its leg (chair’s leg) and it’s means it is.

    Task 2 :

Today , we are living in a small global village. Globalization has made it possible to travel and to work in different nations across the globe . That is why some people opine that learning a foreign language is important. Whereas , some people believe that learning foreign language has a more importance than these. I , personally side with latter view .
Firstly , in the past few years , number of people moving to different countries for better education , better work opportunity and to explore the beauty has increased . It can not be denied in such cases if person knows the native language of that country then it would be benefitted for him . Knowing the foreign language enables them to be a part of mainstream . Person who knows the foreign language stands better at job market . Employer prefer to hire a person who is multilingual.
On the other hand , some other importance of learning foreign language can not be ignored . It is a fact that language and culture are inextricably linked . Language fosters confidence in student . It has proven that student who knows foreign language can do better in other subjects as well . Finally, learning a foreign language like English is of great importance . English has become lingua franca in many part of the world , and being spoken in 86 countries . So, if a person knows English he can communicate with a people of 86 countries .
To sum up , I believe that learning foreign language helps people to travel and settle in different countries . but , these are not the only functions of learning foreign language . There are some other advantages of learning foreign languages which are worth considering .

    • IELTS MASTER says:

Sweden did not show downward trend throughout, rather it first increased and then decreased. ‘The United Nation’? Always use the with words like least and most. cannot is one word not two separate words. ‘enables them to’ not them but him because you are talking about a person. ‘lingua franca’ avoid using phrases from other languages, IELTS is English language test. Well written and you can score 6.5-7 bands easily for this attempt.

There is no doubt that either traveling or working in a foreign country becoming very popular solution to speak a foreign language. However, the question: Is it the only way to learn a new language is traveling or working in a foreign country? It is considered to be one of the most controversial issues today. In this essay I will discuss the phenomenon in both viewpoints.

On the one side of the argument, there are people who argue that traveling and working in a foreign country considerably outweigh the disadvantages. The main reason for believing this is contacting with native speakers will improve your language fast in order to be able to speak as their accents professionally. Moreover, it is possible to say if you want to acquire new language, you have to practice, train and speak even if you have made some mistakes and errors. As a goo illustration, some people are feeling shy when they spoke and made mistakes in their country, because of the other selfish learner students, but if you are in a foreign country, you will neither be shy nor nervous and the native speakers will appreciate that we try to learn new language.

On the other hand, it is also consider it with opposing case. It is often argued that nowadays, there are many applications for learning foreign languages and you can make a conversation by video calls or texting with foreign people who want to help continue progressing and learning. For example, Cambly application such a perfect method to learn and improve your language skills.

In my opinion as we can see, there are no easy answers for this question. On balance, however, I tend to believe that traveling and working in a foreign country are the best choice for learning a new language.

    • IELTS MASTER says:

‘foreign country becoming very’ is becoming. Need to write a better introduction and never write a question in the essay. Rephrase the essay question into a statement with your own words. You have completely misinterpreted the statement, the main subject is foreign language and travelling and working as you have started your second paragraph. ‘As a goo illustration, some people are feeling shy when they spoke’ good illustration, people feel shy when they speak and make mistakes. ‘it is also consider it with opposing case’ this sentence is grammatically wrong. Need to write a better conclusion. ‘traveling and working in a foreign country are the best choice for learning a new language.’ are the best reasons for learning a new language not choices.

The graph represents average carbon dioxide emissions per person, in metric tonnes, in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy, and Portugal between 1967 and 2007. It’s a line graph with different dotted line symbols, of each country, that identifies them uniquely.

In 1967, the United Kingdom was the highest CO2 emitter, with 11 metric tonnes per person, followed by Sweden with 9, and Italy with 4. Portugal was the lowest emitter, with 2, metric tonnes, per person. By the year 1977, there was a gradual increase in the carbon dioxide emission in every country, except the United States. There was a steep decline in CO2 emissions, in Sweden from the year 1977 to 1987. Italy and Portugal were suffering from increasing emission of CO2, uniformly.

By 2007, the United Kingdom reached 9, metric tonnes from 11 in 1967; Emission lowered very slowly by time, but still, it was the highest compared to other countries. Italy became stagnant in emission at approx 6.75 metric tonnes. Sweden had reached the lowest spot in 2007, emitting 4.5 metric tonnes, with Portugal.

In 1967, the average emission of CO2 by a Briton was the highest at nearly 11 metric tonnes and despite a decrease throughout the period it remained the highest among all the countries. While, Sweden’s CO2 emission was approximately 9 tonnes at the beginning of the period, which has increased by about 1 metric tonne in 1977.
