WRITING TASK 1
The maps illustrate changes in the road layout of a Hospital in a city between 2007 and 2010
Overall, the location of the hospital remains the same in both maps which is directly opposite Ring road. There is a Hospital road, Public and Staff car park and a City road. It is noted that significant changes occurred in the map in 2010, compared to 2007.
Firstly, there were bus stops located on each side of the Hospital road in the 2007, however in 2010, two round about were constructed, one at each end of the road further dividing the roads into two with each still connected to the round about intersection. One of the roads at the left was used as a bus stop, connecting from one end to the other rotary.
Furthermore, the City road remained the same for the two maps. Another difference noted between the charts is the location of the car parks. In 2007, the public and staff parking lot were together at the right side of the bus stops, meanwhile for the new development in 2010, the lots were separated, Public park was located just opposite the City hospital, and the Staff car park at the right of Hospital road, opposite the bus station.
WRITING TASK 2
Residing in a foreign country and having to speak the local language has numerous functional and social challenges.
I strongly agree with this statement as adapting to a new environment environment poses significant hurdles.
Firstly, one of the most difficult aspect of relocating to a new place is the social problems encountered. This can lead to a feeling of deep frustration or regrets especially if one still finds it very hard to comprehend the spoken language, leading limited social interactions or even avoidance, thereby causing a deep feeling of loneliness and abandonment.
Another view is that, the residents of an area, tend to favour the native indigens compared to strangers. For example, it is a bit difficult to accept Asians in African countries and vice versa, thus making their lifestyles more complex than it already is.
Furthermore, some languages are not as easy to learn as others, and moving to a new nation can result to temporary or even long term joblessness. This is because it would be hard to get a job especially if it requires experience in the field. Therefore, there is lack of trust as to whether the job can be done efficiently by a foreigner. For example, a very intelligent doctor from Nigeria, may need to undergo further training before being allowed to practice in the USA.
In conclusion, moving to a new country and learning the local tongue can be very challenging, leading to problems in communication and also resulting in work related issues.

2. ‘difficult aspect’ – difficult aspects, always use plural form of noun with the phrase ‘one of the’
3. ‘the spoken language’ – instead use ‘the local dialect’ always try to use better vocabulary
4. ‘joblessness’ – unemployment not joblessness
5. ‘more complex’ – more troublesome instead of complex
part 2 –
Moving to a foreign country where communication relies heavily on the local language can result in significant social hurdles as well as practical challenges. I strongly agree with this statement, as language plays a crucial role in shaping daily interactions, professional opportunities, and overall integration into a new society.
To begin with, one of the most common difficulties newcomers face is adapting to unfamiliar cultural norms. When individuals do not fully understand the local language, they often struggle to participate in social activities or interpret subtle cultural cues. This can create feelings of isolation and exclusion, which may further reduce their confidence and motivation. Even after someone learns the basics of the language, understanding regional accents, slang, or idiomatic expressions can still be demanding. These subtleties often influence how people form friendships and build trust within a community, making social integration a slow and sometimes frustrating process.
Moreover, language barriers can severely impact academic and professional growth. Many employers prioritise candidates who can communicate effectively with colleagues and clients, regardless of their technical skills. For example, an Artificial Intelligence expert moving from India to Germany might possess exceptional domain knowledge, yet still struggle to secure a suitable job without strong German-language proficiency. This is because workplaces often require clear communication for teamwork, documentation, and client interaction. Similarly, international students may face challenges while engaging in class discussions, understanding lectures, or approaching professors for clarification. As a result, their academic performance and social connections may suffer.
In addition, some languages are inherently difficult to master, and reaching a level of fluency that matches native speakers’ natural pace can take several years. During this period, newcomers may encounter daily inconveniences such as difficulty navigating public services, accessing healthcare, or handling official procedures, all of which rely heavily on accurate communication.
In conclusion, whether an individual relocates as a student, employee, or long-term immigrant, proficiency in the local language is essential for both social integration and practical living. Without strong communication skills, settling in a foreign country becomes considerably more challenging and may hinder one’s overall quality of life.

writing task#1
The two maps show changes in road access to a city hospital between 2007 and 2010.
Overall, the road system was significantly improved over the three-year period. The main changes included the construction of roundabouts, the addition of a bus station, and the separation of car parking facilities for staff and the public. These developments helped to reduce traffic congestion and improve access to the hospital.
In 2007, the hospital was surrounded by a ring road, which was connected to City Road by Hospital Road. Several bus stops were located along both sides of Hospital Road, allowing buses to stop close to the hospital. There was also one car park on the eastern side of Hospital Road, which was shared by both staff and visitors.
By 2010, the layout had changed considerably. The bus stops were removed and replaced with a bus station built to the west of Hospital Road. In addition, two roundabouts were constructed to manage traffic flow more efficiently. The original car park was divided into a staff car park to the south of the hospital and a public car park to the east.
1. ‘separation’ – use the word segregation
2. ‘These developments helped to reduce traffic congestion’ – do not include any extra ideas in the task just explain what is shown in the image
3. ‘bus stops were removed and replaced with a bus station’ – bus stops were supplanted by a bus station
4. Your writing style is good just try to use better vocabulary and you will score good bands
TASK 1
The maps highlights the development of the City Hospital from 2007 to 2010. There are significant amount of changes that have been observed over these three years.
In 2007, the health center was surrounded by a ring road in all four directions which was located at the north. Additionally, it can be noticed that, the entrance was in the south-east. Moreover, City road connected to the hospital road. In addition, it had six bus stops on both the sides. The area towards the east was allocated for staff and public car parking.
In 2010, the area went under considerable redevelopment in which two roundabout were newly constructed that connected with the bus station in the west. In addition, the roundabout in the south had linked with city road and hospital for better connectivity. Another roundabout had two gates that emerged with bus station and staff parking. However, public car parking was introduced in the east of the hospital.
TASK 2
Many people argue that living in foreign countries and learning their languages causes major social and practical issues, while others believe that getting familiar with new language is beneficial for society. This essay will describe both the views before drawing the conclusion.
To begin with, there is a constant pressure of adapting to different languages which results in loneliness and depression. Additionally, students who are pursing higher educating find it difficult to be a part of social communities due to language barrier and hampers their confidence. Moreover, the entry level jobs are becoming more complicated for youngsters similarly, international students struggle to deal with government, healthcare and banking services that leads to stress. For example, many Indian students are forced to learn german language that results in anxiety.
On the other hand, many people have the suggest that using wide range of communication medium help to understand their cultural values. In addition, it helps individuals to become self-reliant and pitch their views to the locals of that area. Children not only get to know work ethics but also builds enthusiasm in working professionals. For instance, many companies in Sweden and Germany hire individuals that are skilled in their native language that not only contributes to their performance but also tend to be a good cultural fit.
In summary, although there are several merits and demerits of this trend i firmly believe, that there are more challenges and struggling factors associated with learning new language.
Task 2
1. ’causes major’ – cause not causes since you are talking about two problems
2. ‘pursing higher educating’ – higher education
3. ‘youngsters similarly’ – no need to write similarly
4. ‘german’ – German
5. ‘people have the suggest that’ – people think that
6. You need to work on your basic grammar as your writing is full grammatical mistakes
TASK 2
The assertion that living in a foreign country where you have to speak a different language that your mother tongue implies relationship issues and common day complexities is a narrow perspective.
In my opinion, that statement does not consider the people’s proficiency in the local language. It may not be your first language, but you may have some proficiency in it, more if you are intending to live in that country. I think you would consider the language barrier when choosing a country where you want to live. For example, I am Mexican, and I emigrated to Canada some years ago, and when choosing to live in Canada I took into consideration that I had the basic domain of the English language, if that were not the case, then maybe I would have chosen Spain or another South American country.
But there are cases where you are fleeing a country for any valid reason. In that case, you may not have the option to move to a country where the language is the same as your native tongue. For example, I have seen here in Canada the complexities that the refugees have to sort out when they arrive. Arriving in a new country with a different language and culture must be harsh on them, that requires a full adaptation and culture immersion process.
As an example of the complexity of the problems, we can refer to the movie Lost in Translation, where the main English speaking characters have to interact with Japanese speaking characters. During the movie you can watch some scenes where there are language and culture barriers.
So I can state my perception that the initial statement can be true if you do not have the basic understanding of the foreign language.
1. ‘consider the people’s proficiency’ – consider people’s proficiency
2. ‘not be your first language’ – not be a person’s first language, use third person in the essay and not second person like you
3. ‘basic domain of the English’ – basic knowledge of English
4. ‘complexities that’ – not complexities but problems
5. You have used word complexity too many times avoid repetition
