The pie charts illustrate how different retail fields contributed the digital shopping sales of new zealand percentagwise in the years 2003 and 2013.
Overall,at the beginning of the period books contributed the least to the online sales of new zealand, while travel was the most significant sales field. In comparison,at the end of period largest segment is similar to the beginning and lowest contribution was made by cloths.
Garment field accounted for approximately one quater of the country sales in 2003,and experienced 8% decreased to 16 % in 2013.Sales from travel was 36% in 2003 and had a downfall of 7% in 2013.
Books, which comprised nearly one fifth percentage in 2003,rose to 22% in 2013.Whereas films and music holds slightly more than one forth percentage in 2013 and 12% to reach one third in 2013.
It can be noted that, tourism fields lead the highest segments of sales in both years.
(*Note*,dear examiner how much do i score on this writing based on you thought thought?)

    • IELTS-PTE says:

‘contributed to the digital’ ‘to’ is missing. Never write percentagewise. ‘8% decreased’ grammatically wrong. Never write one fifth percentage because one fifth is a fraction not a percentage. Your current writing style will get you maximum of 6-6.5 bands.

The pie charts highlight the sales of travel, film or music, books and clothes through E-commerce websites in new zealand in the year 2003 and 2013.

Overall, the figures of travel sales , which was highest percentage of sales in 2003 had dramatically dropped by the year 2013 . In contrast ,in 2013 ,the proportion of film or music had gained the highest popularity in sales that was lesser in the year 2003.

According to the chart,in 2003, the highest sales figures were travel which constitutes 36 %, followed by clothes sales which was almost one -fourth of its total sales . Approximately one- fifth of books were sold which was the least selling figures in 2013 .
In 2013 , the figures of film or music showed the highest percentage of sales to about one- third ,followed by travel sales of about 29 %.The least number of sales recorded in 2013 was clothes of about 16 percent which was the second largest sales in the year 2003 .

Always use the with words like highest and lowest. ‘which was highest percentage of sales’ is wrong way to write ‘which comprised the largest share of sales in 2003’. ‘the highest sales figures were travel’ this is also incorrect formation. which constituted 36% not constitutes since data is of past. ‘one -fourth of its total sales’ not its sales but one-fourth of total sales. ‘Approximately one- fifth of books were sold’ this is giving wrong sense because it means that out of total books only one-fifth were sold but here we are talking about share of books in online sales. You have made the same mistake in the entire task by mentioning individual sales, whereas the task was to describe sector wise % sales as part of total online sales.

  5. Rekha Soni says:

Sir is it correct? Travel accounted for 36% of online sales’ percentage .

It is clear that at the beginning of the period travel contributed the highest and books was the smallest segment of the online sales. In comparison, At the end of the period, online sales for film or music increased dramatically and made the maximum contribution and clothes was the least significant part.
There is a rose in film or music in 2003 and 2013 from 21% to 33% respectively. Also, there is a very sudden increase in online sales of film or music from 21% to 33% respectively.
In 2003, online sales for clothes are contributed 24% which steadily declined to 16% in 2013. There also decreased in travel sector sales from 36% to 26% from 2003 to 2013.
